Energy and sustainability

Giving back to the community is a top priority for both Utilita and AFC Bournemouth – which is why Utilita has become their official energy and sustainability partner. The aim of the three-year partnership is not only to reduce the club’s carbon emissions, but to create awareness locally around green energy and the benefits of solar power.

Expanding the partnership to the local community, fans can nominate someone who’s made a conscious effort to help the environment to become a Utilita Energy Savings Champion.

Sustainable energy for the long haul

The development of their brand new Canford training complex meant it was perfect timing to install the solar panels, joining the path to a greener future. The club’s aim is to become the leading force in the drive for sustainability across football, producing 280,000 kWp annually and significantly slashing carbon emissions.

Project Manager at Canford, Darren Booth, spoke about the importance of sustainability and the journey towards a greener future, “Sustainability has always been a key pillar of the training ground project, so to be delivering it on such a high level is something we’re really proud of.”
