Utilita Bowl
Southampton
Project Overview
Highlights
Meeting diverse energy demands
With a golf course, spa, Hilton Hotel, wedding venue, and conference center, the Utilita Bowl is a prime example of high and varied energy needs.
Our solar installation of 1,044 panels will generate nearly 400,000 kWh of renewable energy annually—enough to power 130 average UK homes for an entire year. This will save the campus over £100,000 in energy costs every year, and more than £1.52 million over 20 years.
Impressively, the system will pay for itself within just five years under a loan agreement while reducing the campus’s carbon footprint by 80 tonnes CO2e per year.
Designing solar for the iconic stands
The Bowl’s expansive rooftop provides the ideal space for a solar system to generate renewable energy.
From the start, Utilita surveyed the stands and collaborated with the Bowl’s management to create a solar system tailored to their unique requirements.
Once the plan is finalised, our qualified partners will install the solar panels along with a real-time visual display, allowing visitors and staff to see the energy being generated.
